A few announcements!

Hi guys! I want to start off this announcement by thanking you all for your enthusiasm and excitement about our game! I was in no way expecting it to get this much attention so it's awesome to see so many people on the Test Drive.

I know there have been a few concerns about the game, and I want to address those before we open up reserves to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Before I begin, this post does contain content (discussion of conversion therapy) that may be triggering to some, and for that we apologize.

Firstly, this game is set in the 1920s. We are more than aware that during the 1920s, tensions surrounding race, gender, and sexuality were definitely a thing. We don't wish to erase that; if you play a character of color, or someone who is gay, you are totally free to bring them to this game and play them the way they are. However, if we were to play this game 100% true to life, this game would be limited to characters who were, for the most part, straight (or deeply closeted), white, and wealthy. However, we don't want to limit our game like that because we want to be able to have a diverse and welcoming game environment. This isn't to say that you can't play out tensions between characters from different walks of life, because you certainly may. We just want to bend reality/history a little to allow for a more easygoing play experience for those who aren't interested in that kind of thing.

Secondly, we were approached by a player asking if they would be able to play out conversion therapy with their character. While we don't wish to stifle anyone's creativity or dictate what they can or cannot play, this is also something that myself, my co-mod, and several prospective players are deeply uncomfortable with or triggered by. We don't want to say that nobody can play out "darker" subject matter, but the nature of conversion therapy is pretty prohibitive for those who aren't interested in playing it. If one person plays it and suggests that it was orchestrated by the school, that doesn't just affect that character, but every other character who falls under that umbrella. That turns it into a game mechanic and that is by no means something we want to do.

This game is, at its heart, a high school AU game. I apologize if there was any misunderstanding or if I was not clear enough about the game's intended tone, but my intent was to make a game that was relatively light-hearted in tone, with fun supernatural elements and plots. We're not banning any "mature" content, but we do ask that anything containing sexually explicit content or mature language be appropriately labeled and put behind a cut.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions, either here, on the mod contact post, or by PM, if you prefer. Thanks everyone!
